Football Game Preview: Holdenville Wolverines vs. Comanche Indians

The Holdenville Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Comanche Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holdenville's defense has only allowed 9.9 points per game this season, so Comanche's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Holdenville came up short against Davis and fell 23-14. The contest marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Although Holdenville took the loss, they still got scores from Abe Gomez and Bo Black.

Even if they lost, Holdenville's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Camron Swayze: he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Comanche was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Community Christian, falling 44-21. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-7.

Comanche's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Holdenville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Everything came up roses for Holdenville against Comanche when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 40-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
