Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Family Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Family lost against Whitefield Academy back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cornerstone Family started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 20-25, 25-13, 25-7, 15-10.

Willa Swanson paced Cornerstone Family's offense, picking up seven kills. Swanson got some help from Kinsley Juedes and her nine assists. Abby Anderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Cornerstone Family's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Whitefield Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Family will take on St. Xavier at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Shawnee Mission Christian at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th.
