Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Sky View Bobcats

Ridgeline is 9-1 against Sky View since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Riverhawks will host the Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ridgeline has three straight victories, Sky View has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ridgeline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Mountain Crest, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Ridgeline was ranked 20th). The Riverhawks walked away with a 5-2 win over the Mustangs on Wednesday.

Sam Swan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Maddux Jensen was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Colton Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Ridgeline lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Crest didn't launched any home runs.

Meanwhile, Sky View lost 12-2 to Bear River on Wednesday.

Ridgeline's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Sky View, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Ridgeline skirted past Sky View 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Riverhawks repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
