Tohatchi has no trouble against Wingate

The Tohatchi Cougars had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They strolled past Wingate with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. Tohatchi pushed the score to 51-26 by the end of the third, a deficit Wingate cut but never quite recovered from.

Josh Dawes was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Valentino Dawes, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.

Tohatchi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Wingate, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Tohatchi will head out on the road to take on Socorro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wingate, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Thoreau is ranked 95th, while Wingate is ranked 110th).
