Recap: Armijo Royals vs. Vacaville Bulldogs
The Armijo Royals fell victim to the Vacaville Bulldogs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 44-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. It was the first time this season that Armijo let down their fans at home.
Even if they lost, Armijo's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Vacaville's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jericho Johnson.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vacaville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan De lago, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Cristian Diosdado was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Armijo has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Vacaville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Armijo will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Fairfield is ranked 328th, while Armijo is ranked 336th). As for Vacaville, they will head out on the road to face off against Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wood is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
