League recap: Hernandez dominating on the mound for North Salinas

Abel Hernandez was the best pitcher in the league this week. He accumulated one win and eight strikeouts.

Behind a 2-0 record over the past week, Salinas made the biggest jump in the California state rankings, all the way from 405 to 369.

North Salinas's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and zero walks to lead the league in both categories. The Vikings' pitchers have been charged with only 200 hits and have struck out 138 batters. Isaias Mendez is tops on the staff with 49 Ks.
