Baseball Recap: West Broward Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

West Broward won the last time they faced True North Classical Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The West Broward Bobcats walked away with a 6-2 win over the True North Classical Academy Titans.

West Broward got a great performance from Braden Aguila as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Aguila has become a key player for West Broward: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Manuel Sarcos, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sergio Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

West Broward hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as True North Classical Academy struck out nine times.

West Broward has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. True North Classical Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

West Broward and True North Classical Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. West Broward will take on Stoneman Douglas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday down 130 places (141 vs. 11). Similarly, True North Classical Academy (ranked 48th) will meet Neumann (ranked fifth) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
