Football Game Recap: North Pontotoc vs. Belmont

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between North Pontotoc and Belmont. North Pontotoc were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Belmont 49-6. That result was just more of the same for North Pontotoc, who also won the last time these teams played.

North Pontotoc's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Belmont couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. North Pontotoc put the matchup away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and six points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 7-0. The defeat dropped Belmont's record to 2-4.

North Pontotoc will look to defend their home turf next week against Kossuth at 7:00 PM. North Pontotoc are cruising in on a seven-game winning streak while Kossuth are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses. As for Belmont, they will face off against Mantachie. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
