3A Region 11 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Bear River took down Ben Lomond 47-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Zundel threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 109 yards in the win.
Kade Carrigan was the most productive running back in 3A Region 11 this week. He ran for 114 yards on 21 carries as Morgan bested the Scots. Joe Kippen also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.
Jensen was the best wideout in the league this week as Bear River beat Ben Lomond. Jensen tallied three receptions for 82 yards. Garrett Fronk helped Bear River's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
Bear River's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zundel has thrown for 913 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Jensen has 25 catches for 411 yards. Zundel also leads the league in rushing with 530 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Region 11 this week will be when the Trojans take on Chris Wise's team. Morgan is in fourth place, while the Bears are in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when Kovi Christiansen's team and Bear River face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 211 this season, while the Bears have scored 180. Morgan scored 28 points last week as it fell to Stansbury.
Ogden made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,630 from 11,508. The improvement was the result of 42-35 victory over Canyon View last week.
