Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Comes Up Short

Piedmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Castro Valley Trojans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

Piedmont took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-11, 25-13.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Castro Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Piedmont will head out on the road to take on Head-Royce at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Castro Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against San Leandro on the 17th.
