Football Game Preview: Plainville Blue Devils vs. Northwest Catholic Lions

Plainville and Northwest Catholic are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Blue Devils will host the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Plainville got the win against Tolland by a conclusive 43-18. With the Blue Devils ahead 37-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Chase Bouchard was Abarno's top target, picking up 108 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Joel Barlow 35-7. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Lions just coasted through the last quarter.

Northwest Catholic had a senior duo take command as Vincent Burbank threw for 305 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes and Kayden Davis picked up 215 receiving yards and three scores. Davis was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Henry, who picked up 43 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Northwest Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Plainville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
