Basketball Game Preview: West Jordan Jaguars vs. Hunter Wolverines

West Jordan is 2-8 against Hunter since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Jordan Jaguars will head out to face off against the Hunter Wolverines at 5:15 p.m. West Jordan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Hunter likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when West Jordan faced off against Kearns on Friday. West Jordan took their match with ease, bagging a 64-27 victory over Kearns. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hunter). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Granger 56-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wolverines have posted since November 22, 2024.

Hunter's win came from a few key players West Jordan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Skye Davidson, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mamakoula Tuitupou-Kutu, who put up 13 points.

West Jordan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Hunter, they pushed their record up to 9-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

West Jordan strolled past Hunter in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Jordan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
