Football Game Preview: Gadsden City Titans vs. Jasper Vikings + How To Watch

The Gadsden City Titans will take on the Jasper Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Gadsden City had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 42-point drubbing they dealt Fultondale on Thursday. The Titans' defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 42-0 shutout. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Titans this season.

Gadsden City can attribute much of their success to Sam Sollie, who threw for 170 yards and three TDs. The dominant performance also gave Sollie a new career-high in passer rating (119.3).

Meanwhile, Jasper blew past Lawrence County, posting a 49-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Gadsden City better focus on containing Lincoln Smothers and Zion Coger as the pair were huge in Jasper's win. Smothers rushed for 26 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Coger rushed for 90 yards and two scores on only eight carries.

Jasper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence County only rushed for 104.

Gadsden City's record is now 7-3. As for Jasper, their record now sits at 8-2.
