Recap: Galileo Lions vs. Washington Eagles

If the Galileo Lions were feeling good off their 66-42 takedown of The Academy - San Francisco Wolves last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Galileo took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington on Tuesday. If Galileo hoped to take revenge for the 58-55 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Leading Washington to victory were Jaydon Chow and Jonah Chiu. Chow scored 19 points along with two steals, while Chiu scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Chiu also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnson Chang, who scored seven points.

Galileo now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galileo's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lowell at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Lowell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Galileo in California (Lowell is ranked 340th, while Galileo is ranked 693rd). As for Washington, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against O'Connell at 5:30 p.m. O'Connell is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
