Baseball Recap: Germantown Gets the Win

Germantown is still undefeated this season after their contest against Wauwatosa East on Tuesday, but Wauwatosa East came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Warhawks came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Red Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warhawks have posted against the Red Raiders since June 1, 2021.

Nolan Vogt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Brady Lauer tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Ty Olszewski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jon Murkowski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Germantown's record now sits at 11-0. As for Wauwatosa East, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6.
