Baseball Game Preview: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

Christ the King is 9-1 against Langtree Charter Academy since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Crusaders will host the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Christ the King will be strutting in after a win while Langtree Charter Academy will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Christ the King needed a bit of extra time to put away Mount Pleasant. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 14-10. The Crusaders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Patrick Walsh was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Christ the King is 6-2 when Walsh posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Owen Shipman was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to Lincoln Charter. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Langtree Charter Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Roschke, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Christ the King pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything went Christ the King's way against Langtree Charter Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Christ the King made off with an 8-0 victory.
