Recap: Nemaha Central Thunder vs. Sabetha Bluejays

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Nemaha Central Thunder walked away with it. They walked away with a 17-7 victory over Sabetha on Friday. Nemaha Central's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Nemaha Central found their leader in underclassman Carter Hajek, who rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Hajek is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Sabetha lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Menold. Despite the final result, he rushed for 109 yards. Menold was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.

Nemaha Central's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.21 points. As for Sabetha, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.

Nemaha Central will take on Hoisington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hoisington will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Sabetha does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
