Softball Recap: Paradise Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After only one run in their last contest, Paradise made sure to put some runs up on the board against Winters on Saturday. The Bobcats walked away with a 10-5 win over the Warriors. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grace Meldrum made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Gandolfi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2025. MaggieMae Stratton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Paradise's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Winters, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Paradise will be taking part in a tournament against Hamilton at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Winters, they will be playing at home against Napa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
