League recap: Lewis County extends winning streak with victory over Creek Wood

Adding to the longest winning streak in AA District 11 this week, Lewis County beat Creek Wood 41-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

Cody Bennett was a passing and rushing force as Lewis County beat the Red Hawks.

Zach Roberts put up the best numbers in passing as Hickman County topped Waverly Central. He finished with 5 completions for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns. Roberts' favorite target this week was Logan Hill, who caught 2 passes for 92 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Bulldogs' Roberts and Hill have proven to be a lethal combination. Roberts has thrown for 1,054 yards this season, while Hill has 21 catches for 554 yards. Lucas Graham from Bobby Sharp's team leads the league in rushing with 976 yards.

Graham of the the Panthers is just 24 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 87 carries Graham has accumulated 976 yard this year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lewis County takes on the Indians. As it stands, the Panthers are in first, while Montgomery Central is in seventh.

East Hickman County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,378 from 5,632. The advance stemmed from a 51-10 victory over the Indians last week.
