Baseball Game Preview: Rejoice Christian Eagles vs. Wister Wildcats

The Rejoice Christian Eagles will face off against the Wister Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Rejoice Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Wister has snatched up 12 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

Rejoice Christian came up short against Plainview on Tuesday, falling 11-1.

Rejoice Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Lawson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Wister never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Lindsay. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Kord Fenton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dartyn Meeks, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Turnipseed, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wister always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wister's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Rejoice Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
