The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will head out to face off against the Frankton Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Monday, Oak Hill came up short against Western and fell 8-4. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Trenner Boswell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ayden Pearce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frankton). They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over Sheridan on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Finn Cress looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Shaun Jarrett and Caine Oakley did most of the damage at the plate: Jarrett went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while Oakley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Frankton is undefeated when Oakley posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Brayden Peters also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Frankton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Frankton's record now sits at 3-4. As for Oak Hill, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Oak Hill's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Golden Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Frankton, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Oak Hill continue to outrun the ball?
Oak Hill might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Frankton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
