Basketball Game Preview: Central Trail Blazers vs. Pershing Doughboys

Central hasn't had much luck against Pershing recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Central Trail Blazers will venture away from home to challenge the Pershing Doughboys at 7:00 p.m.

Central is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game two weeks ago. They lost 42-16 to Communication Media Arts.

Meanwhile, Pershing put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 71-3 win over Northwestern. The Doughboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Pershing's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.2 points. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Central took a serious blow against Pershing in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 59-29. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
