It was a good run, but West Covina unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covina Colts. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

West Covina got a good showing from Michael Gutierrez, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Gutierrez didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, West Covina saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffey Moncada, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

West Covina's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Covina, they moved to 10-11 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

While West Covina had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
