Softball Recap: Steele Canyon Takes a Loss

Steele Canyon was the 11-1 winner over Mt. Carmel when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Steele Canyon Cougars fell 8-5 to the Mt. Carmel Sundevils on Monday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Steele Canyon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marina Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Steele Canyon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mt. Carmel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Steele Canyon Cougars face off against Escondido Charter Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will take on Mater Dei Catholic in a tournament on Tuesday.
