Coxsackie-Athens had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian Rams as they made off with a 32-8 win. For the Riverhawks, this counts as revenge for the 26-20 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Coxsackie-Athens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyle Scott out in front who picked up 51 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another passer making a difference was Tristan Canning, who threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.

Coxsackie-Athens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 53-14 loss against Norwich on the 12th. As for Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-26 defeat against Hudson Falls on the 13th.
