Softball Recap: Mountain View Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mountain View walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Desert Vista Thunder on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Toros: when they faced off against the Thunder back in April, they had to take a 13-3 loss.

Daniella Gloria spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kylynn Sylvester was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Ashlyn Parra was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Vista only managed seven hits.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-8.

Mountain View has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Tucson High Magnet School on the 10th. Desert Vista has also already played their next contest (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
