Softball Recap: Atchison County Tigers vs. Jefferson County North Chargers

Atchison County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 32 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-23 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Jefferson County North Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-9 on Thursday.

As for Jefferson County North, they pushed their record up to 8-16 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Jefferson County North's part, Olivia Domann made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Domann has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jefferson County North let Kennadi Hernandez and Bowie Weishaar run wild. Hernandez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Weishaar got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs. That's the most runs Weishaar has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Emmarie Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
