Football Game Preview: Wynot Blue Devils vs. Hitchcock County Falcons

The Wynot Blue Devils will face off against the Hitchcock County Falcons on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Wynot sitting on seven straight wins and Hitchcock County on ten.

Wynot is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mullen 64-13. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-7.

Lane Heimes had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 134 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 70 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Wyatt Nelson, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wynot proved: they limited Mullen to a paltry two yards per carry. The team can thank Nixen Heimes for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wynot's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.84 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 8.47 on average over their last five games.

Wynot didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kotner Koch and Carter Hans. Another thorn in Mullen's side was Parker Schmidt, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Hitchcock County didn't have too much trouble with Twin Loup on Friday as they won 24-10.

Wynot's record now sits at 9-1. As for Hitchcock County, their record is now 10-0.

Wynot beat Hitchcock County 22-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
