Volleyball Recap: MacDonald Takes a Loss

MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Palo Alto Vikings, falling 3-0. The Condor were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 25-16.

Tobin Ley paced MacDonald's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ley got some help from Dylan Bugarin and his 18 assists. Ethan Bugarin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

MacDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Palo Alto, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, MacDonald and Palo Alto will both be playing Santa Clara the next time they take the court. MacDonald will head out to face Santa Clara at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, while Palo Alto will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
