Volleyball Recap: Doherty Takes a Loss

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to The Vanguard School Coursers. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coursers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Doherty was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made The Vanguard School work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 25-18.

Ryan Kaiser paced Doherty's offense, picking up ten kills. Kaiser got some help from Elijah Morrison and his 29 assists. Kaiser was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Doherty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for The Vanguard School, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10.

Coming up, Doherty will welcome Rampart at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Vanguard School, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Pueblo South on the 16th.
