Volleyball Recap: Mountain Ridge Takes a Loss

Mountain Ridge lost against Sunnyslope back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions came up short against the Vikings, falling 3-0. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Mountain Ridge had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Sunnyslope was led to victory by Lilli Schmitt and Emma Easton. Schmitt had four digs and two aces, while Easton had nine digs and two aces. Schmitt is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sunnyslope, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

After both having extra time off, Mountain Ridge and Pinnacle will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sunnyslope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
