            Football Recap: Ezekiel Academy Knights vs. East Central HomeSchool Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            If Ezekiel Academy was feeling good  fresh off their  48-6 takedown of Trinity Christian Homeschool last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took  a  31-14 bruising from the East Central HomeSchool Patriots on Friday. The Knights were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting  back in October of 2024.
Ezekiel Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Parker Weston, who threw for 123 yards and one  touchdown, and also rushed for 67 yards.  Noah Sawyer was another key back, rushing for 65 yards and one  TD.
 Even if they lost, Ezekiel Academy's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Landen Ethridge,  Steven Groff,  and  Hayden Kelley, who each picked up one  sack apiece. Another thorn in East Central HomeSchool's side was  Ethridge, who picked up  a  sack and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Among those leading the charge was   Barrett Weems, who rushed for 40 yards and one  score, and also threw for 27 yards and one  touchdown. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in September of 2024.
Ezekiel Academy now  has a losing record of 3-4. As for East Central HomeSchool,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Ezekiel Academy will venture away from home to  face off against Lighthouse HomeSchool  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Knights are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for East Central HomeSchool, they will head out to  take on CSTHEA  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
