Baseball Recap: Rangely Panthers vs. Meeker Cowboys

Rangely had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it four. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meeker Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 16-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Rangely saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Lambros, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Lambros has hit this season.

As for Meeker, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

On Meeker's side, Carson Klinzmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Klinzmann has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rangely will head out to square off against North Fork at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Meeker, they will head out on the road to face off against Aspen at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
