Baseball Recap: Unionville-Sebewaing Takes a Loss

Unionville-Sebewaing extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-7 in the process. They came up short against the Millington Cardinals, falling 8-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

As for Millington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Millington's part, Truk Terbush made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Terbush has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Luke Petzold was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Drake Terwilliger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

While Unionville-Sebewaing had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
