Basketball Game Preview: Omaha North Vikings vs. Omaha South Packers

Omaha North and Omaha South are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Omaha North Vikings and the Omaha South Packers will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Omaha North and eight for Omaha South.

Last Friday, Omaha North came up short against Elkhorn South and fell 57-45. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jerri'On Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points and seven boards. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ban Yor, who posted nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Omaha South also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Benson by a score of 76-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Packers still had to take the loss.

Omaha North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Omaha South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything came up roses for Omaha North against Omaha South in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 80-46 win. Does Omaha North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Omaha South turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
