Baseball Recap: Desert Has No Trouble Against Frazier Mountain

Desert won the last time they faced Frazier Mountain and things went their way on Monday too. The Scorpions put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scorpions.

Landon Kizzer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Desert is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Mendoza, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Dion, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Desert picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-8. As for Frazier Mountain, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
