Basketball Recap: Tyler Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Tyler Classical Academy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Athens Christian Preparatory Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiley Normandin, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Normandin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 26 games she's played dating back to last season. Emma Fowler was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Tyler Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Athens Christian Preparatory Academy will take on Trinity Christian Academy in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tyler Classical Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Storm's matchup: after the Storm face off against King's Academy, they'll take on Tyler Classical Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2026.
