Football Recap: Cedar Creek Piles Up the Points Against Plain Dealing

It was a proper cat-fight when Cedar Creek duked it out with Plain Dealing on Friday. The Cougars claimed a resounding 60-6 victory over the Lions. Considering the Cougars have won three contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cedar Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Micah Taylor, Dylan Drake, and Gunner Fontenot picked up one apiece. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Fontenot got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Cedar Creek, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Taylor, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Cedar Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Plain Dealing, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Cedar Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 62-20 loss against Haynesville on the 17th. As for Plain Dealing, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-0 defeat against Arcadia on the 17th.
