Volleyball Recap: Fontana Starts Season with Victory Against Redlands

Fontana had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Redlands Terriers 3-2. The Steelers haven't had any issues with the Terriers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Fontana took Redlands into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 15-9.

Donavan Bacon paced Fontana's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bacon got some help from Luis Gonzalez and his 42 assists.

Redlands is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Fontana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Ontario on the 19th. As for Redlands, they will venture away from home to square off against Santiago at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th.
