Recap: Angleton Wildcats vs. Ball Tornadoes
With a playoff game on the line, the Angleton Wildcats rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 40-34 W over Ball. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Angleton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Simmons, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown. Nicholas Jackson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Ball's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Arenthis Winn, who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Winn really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Jonah Williams was another key contributor, gaining 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
Angleton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Ball, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.
Angleton will take on Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Park is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Ball does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
