Basketball Recap: Harlan Green Dragons vs. Breathitt County Bobcats
The Harlan Green Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They managed a 98-92 victory over Breathitt County. The win was just what Harlan needed coming off of a 88-63 defeat in their prior contest.
Breathitt County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaxon Hamilton, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Hamilton has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Sperry, who scored 22 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Harlan's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Breathitt County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harlan will take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Knott County Central is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Breathitt County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Hazard's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
