Football Recap: Upland Extends Winning Streak to Three

Upland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Alta Loma Braves with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. Given the Highlanders/Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Braves are ranked 101st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Upland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Amaya Contreras led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one interception the last nine times she's played.

Upland's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Alta Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Upland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-13 win against South Hills on the 16th. As for Alta Loma, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-19 defeat against Citrus Valley on the 16th.
