Softball Recap: Worcester Academy Comes Up Short

Worcester Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Phillips Academy Big Blue. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2017.

Halle Tanniru was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Worcester Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Phillips Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Worcester Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Cushing Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Phillips Academy will square off against rival Mount St. Charles Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
