Football Recap: Ari Sykes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat El Camino Real

Heritage Christian got themselves on the board against El Camino Real on Friday, but El Camino Real never followed suit. They blew past the Royals 26-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Heritage Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ari Sykes, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 62 yards on only six carries. Jordan Schiffner helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Heritage Christian proved: they limited El Camino Real to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The Warriors didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

Heritage Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 30.0 points this season. As for El Camino Real, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Heritage Christian will be playing at home against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Camino Real, they will head out on the road to face off against Grace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
