Basketball Game Preview: Adna Pirates vs. Rainier Mountaineers

The Adna Pirates will take on the Rainier Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Rainier is hoping to do what Ridgefield couldn't on Monday: put an end to Adna's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Adna breezed by Ridgefield to the tune of 80-23. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rainier beat Black Hills 58-46 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountaineers.

Adna pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Rainier, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Adna beat Rainier 68-57 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Adna repeat their success, or does Rainier have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
