Basketball Recap: Savannah Country Day Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jenkins, Savannah Country Day was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over the Toombs County Bulldogs.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Fletcher, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 21 points. Fletcher is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cornelius Bullard, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Savannah Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Toombs County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.

Savannah Country Day will host Woodville-Tompkins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Toombs County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dublin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
