Football Recap: Lansing Comes Up Short

Lansing extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were dealt a 58-23 loss at the hands of the Moravia Blue Devils. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-7.

As for Moravia, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points.

Moravia had a senior duo take command as Eli Landis rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries and Noah Corbett rushed for 159 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Corbett's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Dillon Palmer, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.

Coming up, Lansing will square off against Dryden at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Moravia, they will take on Edison at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Blue Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them.
