Softball Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-10. They came up short against the Peach County Trojans, falling 9-0. This is the first time the Jaguars hasn't plated a run since all the way back on August 12th.

Even though they lost, Spalding hit smart and finished the game with only four strikeouts. They have not posted that few strikeouts since the 3rd, when they struck out one time.

As for Peach County, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games.

For Peach County's part, Harper Forzetting tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Forzetting has been consistent for a while: she has a win in each of her last nine appearances.

At the plate, Peach County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taleyah Marable, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while logging 2 stolen bases, 1 double, and 1 run. Marable has been locked in at the plate lately, hitting .759 over her last nine games vs .464 in her previous 11 games.

Peach County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 25-8 win against Central on the 16th. Hopefully Spalding paid attention to the Trojans' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
