Volleyball Recap: Seeger Patriots vs. Crawfordsville Athenians
After flying high against Fountain Central on Tuesday, Seeger came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Crawfordsville Athenians on Thursday. The loss was the Patriots' first of the season.
While Seeger had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 14-25, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Seeger had strong showings from Aubry Herbert, who had 18 digs and three assists, and Aubrey Spear, who had ten digs and three aces.
Among those leading the charge was Claire Peacock, who hit 100% for nine kills and eight aces, five digs, and one block. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 20 times she's played. Aliyah Brost also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Seeger fell to 7-1. As for Crawfordsville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
