Volleyball Recap: Pioneer's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pioneer took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Vela, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Diamondbacks won by a set and slipped past the Sabercats 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Diamondbacks have posted since August 31, 2024.

Pioneer was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will venture away from home to face off against Rio Grande City at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vela, they will head out to challenge John F. Kennedy at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday.
